What a great way to kick start your day with this delicious apple cinnamon oatmeal topped with our almond butter. A little bit of brown sugar just adds a touch of sweetness to the mix. This healthy oatmeal is loaded with flavor, fiber and protein making it a great meal before heading to your workout.
INGREDIENTS
- 45g oats
- 200ml oat milk or cow's milk
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 apple
- Almond butter
- Honey or maple syrup
METHOD
- Cut the apples into thin slices and add them to a sauce pan over medium heat with a 1/4 cup of water and a dash of maple syrup or honey. Sauté the apples until they are slightly caramelized. Set aside.
- With the same sauce pan, stir in the oats, milk, sugar and cinnamon over medium heat until the mixture thickens.
- Pour the mix into a bowl and top with the apple slices and a dollop of almond butter.
